I got a virus last year, i reinstalled and reformatted my laptop. Now when i put a dvd in the drive it skips around non stop. I can watch downloaded vids easily, but when i insert a dvd to watch it doesn't work. A couple weeks ago windows said i needed a codec, so I downloaded the K-Lite codec pack, but no luck. Should i just reintall windows all over again? Thanks.

You may have the same problem I had a couple weeks ago. See if that solves anything. Depends as to whether by "skipping around" you mean playing jerkily or actually going from one place in the film to an entirely different one seemingly randomly - if it's the latter I don't know what to recommend.
