Hey,
I installed 64 bit Windows 7 approximately two weeks ago and only realized today when i went to use my DVD drive, that it is not working in W7. So i ventured into device manager and noticed that there was a caution sign on the DVD drive icon (TEAC DVD+-RW DVW28SLC ATA device). When i search windows update for a new driver, it says that the proper driver is installed for a CD-ROM. Obviously it is not the right driver.
So i went to Dell's website and looked in the vista 64 bit drivers for the Dell XPS 1530 and the dvd drive listed there is entirely different.
Has any one else encountered this problem with 64 bit windows 7 and a dell xps 1530 ???

Try looking on the drive manufacturers website.
The biggest issue I came across with 7 was installing my M-Audio FW410 soundcard - the installer will not even extract on any OS other than Vista 64bit, so I had to manually extract and install it. -
