This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     DVD-ROM Drives not being recognized: Fixed!

    My computer would not recognize my DVD-RW drive in my laptop. I know it works fine because I use it for Vista. It would give me a driver error. However after doing some research here's a solution (I used the first one, worked great).

    Go to the registry and go here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    And delete the Lower&Upper filters and reboot. Also there's this ( I havent tried)

    Run this command "bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS"
