I have an Optiarc DVDRW DL drive.

I want to erase an DVD-RW 8x CD.

I am using Roxio Easy Media Creator.

I want to burn an ISO image of a DOS utility program for my hard drive.

I click on the erase button, but it does not work.

When I try to burn the program on it, it says the DVD is not blank?

There is some type of Windows file on it. I think I used it to install Windows 7 a while ago. Do not remember.

Is it possible I finalized the disk? How do I determine this? Does that mean I can not use it again? It is my understanding if a DVD-RW is finalized, I can still use it again by erasing it.

If I want to run this DOS utility program, could I use a CD-R that has other things on it, but has not been finalized, then burn the DOS utility on it.

Can a DVD-RW be used in a CD burner?

Are you able to format the disc? Are you using a compatable disc such as + or - RW. Is your burner capable of using RW discs?
