Does anyone know of a good program to get pictures off a corrupted CD? My wife found an old cd with some of the first pictures of our son on it, but the cd is scratched and I can't copy the files to my computer.

because of the nature of the problem, software can't help you. the media is physically damaged. i would consider trying to burn a copy of the CD (on a system with 2 drives) or getting one of those disc repair-er things at your local electronics store.

There was a program which I have used to recover partial data from damaged diskettes and CDs. It did not work always, however.
I think it was Norton Disk Doctor, I hope I'm not confusing it....

There are some drives that are good at reading damaged discs. Toothpaste also sometimes works if it is scratched.

If you take a look thru this Google Page there are some 'restore services' listed where you can mail them your disk.

I have no personal experience with such services, but if you can't fix it and it is something you really want, then might be worth considering.

    Less that $10 bucks...

    Good Luck

Can you actually view the pictures off the cd? If you can view them, but can't copy them you could always just take a screen shot and paste each picture to paint and save it that way.

Remember, anything you can actually view on your monitor can be taken and saved, any image on the internet for that matter too even though it's protected from being copied. :D
