I have been trying to delete some fonts, but Vista isn't letting me.

Says I need administrator privileges, which I have, so I am not sure.

Anyone know how I can delete some of these fonts?

    Thanks guys.

You may need to specifically set permissions on those files to make yourself the owner.

Right click the font you want to delete, click properties, go to the security tab, edit permissions as appropriate, delete the file.

Make sure you backup all the fonts before deleting them in case you ever need them. You don't need to edit the permissions, make sure you're admin, and delete.

    Thanks guys.

TakeOwnership for some reason doesn't show up for the fonts. It shows up in most other areas but not for the fonts.

I am the administrator for sure.

Like I said, when I right click, none of those options are available...

Could this be do to some service that's disabled? Thanks guys.

    hmm.

I ran some CMD command along the lines of administrator active:/yes or something or another, tried going that route but it was useless too. After a few restarts though, oddly enough, the security options were available when I right clicked. I went through it, had to change the owner from TrustedInstaller to myself, and then gave myself full control, and the **** thing worked, well for most of them anyway. I only wanted to delete abt 19 fonts, those being ones 5mb+, but several of them are being used apparently, so I only deleted a few, saved myself about 70mb.... which ain't bad I guess. Still at 5.5 bars though.... wanted to get down to 4. :p
