1 month ago I downloaded some Dell drivers for my E1405.

One "Recommended" Driver Install was for the Intel Wireless 3945ABG , (37M file).

My wireless network was working perfectly BEFORE the update.
My wireless network DID NOT WORK AFTER the Update.

After a panic, I did a System Restore to 2 days earlier, thank you Restore!

2 days ago, I get a Dell pop-up window recommending an update to the above.
I thought they got it right, so I do it AGAIN.

ONCE again, after a new driver Reboot, my wireless DOES NOT Work !!

BE CAREFULL of the DELL Driver DOWNLOAD SITE !

I have noticed other Driver files that were recommended in the E1405 'bucket', but ... when I go to 'Run' the exe file, the E1405 is NOT on the list of notebooks for the driver ?!! (Not the E1405 or equivilent 640M)

    I downloaded that update.

    Two things I noticed:

    1) The hardware radio light doesn't light up until 1/2 way during boot. Before it was on once the laptop was turned on.

    2) The actual wireless application doesn't connect until after Windows finishes booting (into desktop).

Overall it seems like a battery saving update to me. Wireless doesn't turn on until later, unlike before where it went on once the laptop went on. Don't seem to have lost any connectivity or range, or at least I don't think I've lost any range.
