My Dell Latitude 6430u is dead but fortunately I have everything including my Firefox profile saved on an external USB 3.0 drive. I'm temporarily using the E6410 (pre-USB 3.0) that I bought for my mom a few years ago. Both computers are/were running Win7 Pro 64-bit.

When I connect the External Drive to the E6410, the power light comes on and I can hear the drive running. But I can't see it when I click on My Computer. It does, however, show up under Device Manager when I click on Hard Drives (I see the external drive and the internal SSD).

Any ideas on how I access the external drive?
    THANKS!

Open disk management and see if you can assign a drive letter?
