I just reinstalled Vista on my Dell Vostro 1500, how do I enable the touchpad scrollbar?

Did you install the touchpad driver? If so, is there an icon for the touchpad in the system tray? You may be able to right-click it and configure the touchpad. You may also be able to get to the touchpad settings under Control Panel > Hardware > Mouse.

Dell gave me 3 disks, one of which is the OS. I installed everything on all 3 CD's, but it still doesn't work.

Go to support.dell.com, click Drivers & Downloads, and select your model, in this case laptops > Vostro > 1500. This will bring up a list of drivers and software for the Vostro 1500. The touchpad will be one of these, probably under the "Input Device" category. ;)

Yeah, anything on a CD is going to be outdated anyway... repurpose that driver CD as a drink coaster, and go to dell.com, support section, to download your drivers.

What does your Control Panel look like? Do you have a System Tray icon for your touchpad?

I don't have a system tray icon for my touchpad. I'm not sure but I don't think I did before either, I think it was just an application running in the background.

Control Panel options? What driver do you show in Device Manager?
