    Hi guys,

Bit of an odd request but long story short, my laptop has had a broken screen for a while and I've been running it through a monitor. Recently I sold it and need to post it off, however I formatted the hard drive to install a clean version of Windows and forgot that the monitor doesnt detect a signal until the Windows start up logo.

I can't see the screen to get into the BIOS and change the boot order to CD first so that I can install Windows again. A vicious circle! Would someone on here with the default setup hard drive wise (so the boot options are the same) mind checking the layout of the BIOS on their M1530 and telling me which key presses from entering the BIOS via F2 would set the CD to boot and save and exit it? Alternative solutions welcome if their more practical!

    Thanks in advance

    Josh

Instead of trying to change the boot order in the BIOS, hit F12 which would bring up a one-time boot menu. When you hit F12, the computer will finish posting, and then a list of 4 or 5 different options will appear for different boot locations, and then you arrow up or down to the one you want and press enter. I think CD/DVD drive should be the 1st or 2nd one; you can try that.
