i know I can call them but is this possible that is all I am wondering. I mean I can always order a Vostro that I can configure with a XP but I'd rather get a Inspiron. Does anybody have experience as of lately with this? Because I know I can't find anything on their website that says you can exchange vista for xp.

I called and talked to Doris she said no, I asked even if I beg and start to cry? She said can't be done. Sorry, I tried and failed.

So basically I am stuck with Xp from vostro?

The thing is they still sell XP systems but only on Inspiron 1501 which is a really crappy computer.

ok so if Dell and MS sleeps together and wants to shove Vista down our throats then why does dell also sell laptops with ubuntu on them?
-
Can U get that on a 1520? -
I think I'm just go with a Vostro, by default the CPU is even 100mhz faster just no 2gb ram but then again I use xp so no problem there and its not like ram is hard to install or expensive.
I just really wish the 1520 was able to use XP.
