i know I can call them but is this possible that is all I am wondering. I mean I can always order a Vostro that I can configure with a XP but I'd rather get a Inspiron. Does anybody have experience as of lately with this? Because I know I can't find anything on their website that says you can exchange vista for xp.

I called and talked to Doris she said no, I asked even if I beg and start to cry? She said can't be done. Sorry, I tried and failed.

Looks that way, but maybe someone else can help. Also I did not have an invoice # and threaten to cancel. But if they sell it to you they have to support and that is the only reason I can think as to why, Doris did not seem to understand why that is a problem, they have made them with XP she said.

The thing is they still sell XP systems but only on Inspiron 1501 which is a really crappy computer.

I agree but the second sentence spells it out! If they sell it they have to support it! So you are the one guy who calls there un-support staff, how are they going to run an emulation to help you? Also Dell and MS sleep together so they are trying to shove Vista down your throat!

ok so if Dell and MS sleeps together and wants to shove Vista down our throats then why does dell also sell laptops with ubuntu on them?

I think I'm just go with a Vostro, by default the CPU is even 100mhz faster just no 2gb ram but then again I use xp so no problem there and its not like ram is hard to install or expensive.

I just really wish the 1520 was able to use XP :(.
