I had a desktop background that I dont like anymore. So I go to the monitor properties and apply a new background and my background wont change. When I turn off my computer, the background I changed it to appears and when my computer is turned on it appears for a few seconds but then the old background reappears and stays. When I go to the monitor properties it says that my background is the new one I picked but the old one is displayed.

    Any Ideas?

    You could always nuke windows...

Seriously though, no. Seems wieird. Maybe try a registry cleaner or two.

It finally changed. Is there anyway I can make the background thats stretched with the same quality as the original picture I made for the background?

I dont like the center feature either because I want the pic to take up more of the screen.

    Thanks

The best way is to edit the picture yourself, to get it to a good multiple of the screen size. But, anytime you increase the size of a picture, you lose quality, while decreasing size usually doesn't produce a noticeable decrease in quality (considering, obviously smaller pictures are harder to see).

You can't increase the actual quality of a picture you already have. If you increase the resolution (ex: making it widescreen), then the picture is going to appear blurry somewhat. I'd suggest searching the Internet for backgrounds like the one you have and getting a higher-resolution one.

If you have access to it, I suggest using Photoshop to enlarge the image. Open the image, select "image" tab. select "image size". In the window you will see several constraints including "resolution". Rather then increasing the width or height, I suggest using the resolution tab (it is the least likely to distort the image). If you want to make a full screen image into a widescreen, simply copy the whole image to clipboard then select the "file" tab, "new", and open a document the size of your desktop and paste the image onto it.... If you don't have access to PS, load GIMP and perform the same basic steps. Gimp is a freeware, and it is pretty decent.

If you want, just send me the image and your desktop size and I'll work it for you.
