Just curious if anyone knows of a good program to overlay jpgs transparently onto my desktop, like rainlendar does.

Basically here's what I am trying to do, I have pdfs, word documents, and excel spreadsheets containing all of my assignments. I would LOVE it if I could have an image resting on my desktop that I could click to maximize and decrease transparency to make it legible, or something of that nature.

Kudos, reps, and bananas to those who help me solve this one!

    danke

enable active desktop and make a lil webpage ? just a thought

haven't used custom desktop programs much in the last few years as non would be exactly what i wanted or would devour ram/cpu

That is a possibility, however, I would like to preserve the ability to have background wallpaper, so that the "schedules"/images are not so invasive.

use css codeing the set the background of the webpage then use more css to make the overlays transparent and show up where you want? there are even lil java snippets you could use to make a transparency slide bar. and others to make it so item's are movible.

i know this isnt an exactly easy/simple solution i just don't know of any programs that would do it without being more of a pain in *** than they're worth.

i did find one program called "geektool" but its a mac osx program so...

any other options i found that were worth their weight are just projects and would require you to build it from source and still wouldnt do what your wanting..

thanks for searching...I wish I knew CSS, I would love to create a little app or solution that I could share with others...but alas, I'm not skilled enough.

same, i just know it can be done not sure exactly how it would need to be done. and with the volatile nature of active desktop anyway(mines been disabled for years) i think finding a clone of something like geektool or just settling with leaving the programs open and using something like vitrite to control their transparency might be your best option for now.

hopefully someone else can post and have a better solution! sorry i couldnt help more
