Yesterday when I looked at my device manager, there was a device with a Yellow Exclamation beside it.
Microsoft 6TO4 Adapter.
Upon some Google research, I eventually just uninstalled the Entry. All seems well but I can't help thinking about it.
When I selected "Show Hidden Devices", I noticed I had 3 entries for 6TO4 adapter, none with the Yellow Exclamation.
So far everything seems ok. I was just wondering if I did something wrong by uninstalling the problematic entry.
Specs are in sig (E4300). Latest drivers from Dell are installed. I also recently installed Norton IS 2010.
Any advice?

If you're not using ipv6 (and you're not), you don't have to worry about it. The 6to4 adapter is a software driver tunneling ipv6 packets through an ipv4 network.

My advice is that you stop thinking about it.

its the Intel chipset driver thats not been installed/updated
since ur lappy is a Dell, heres the website:
http://support.ap.dell.com/support/...bIndex=&scanSupported=False&scanConsent=False
download the chipset drivers for Intel -
Yeah, I have all the latest drivers from Dell installed. Chipset included.

its not really that important. i just disable it

there is reg key that is of use when you want to disable everything related to ipv6 on a vista/win7 machine:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters]
"DisabledComponents"=dword:00000000
toggle the dword value between 1 and 0 when you want/need to enable/disable ipv6.
standard disclaimer: manually messing with your registry can cause unintended things to happen up to and including complete failure/screwing up of your entire machine. proceed with caution.
