I have had many notebooks over the years and Samsung is the only Manufacturer that actually includes a pre-activated clean install DVD, I have had a few Samsung Notebooks and they also sometimes come with an driver/software DVD also.

I know you can download a free clean-install dvd for free, but if your notebook with with them let us know.

    Hi John
all my clevo laptops including the latest P502 from mySN UK had pre installed operating system and all drivers loaded. so ready to go out of the box.
also comes with original windows 7 professional disk and drivers disk with software to guide you through which order to load all the drivers if you do a reinstall.

i know quite a lot of people on here like to do their own install once they get their new notebook but for me i will only do a clean install if something is not working or running properly.

    Hi John,
I purchased an HP and did not receive windows 7 disc which was upsetting.

I really don't like how companies are trying to cut out the windows 7 disc when you purchase a laptop, I hate to have to take time out of my day to make a CD.

None with Asus, they stopped shipping them around the time i got my G73 (2010) not that i really care, i got the iso, an OEM DVD i got from a desktop build so i already have all i need and even if i had no installation media, a 5 min trip to my university's IT department would get me one as long as i can convince them it's for a genuine install which is kinda easy considering i'd have the notebook with me.

None with the Lenovo ThinkPad range, you do have the one opportunity to make a set of preloaded recovery discs but for clean installation media you have to obtain it from other sources. Luckily I was a MSDN member so I had no problems with that aspect early on.

I thought all manufactures stop providing the OS discs after XP ? You have to make your own recovery disc now. I bought a lenovo Z370 Laptop for christmas and it had a disc in the drive hand written back up. I tossed it. Seriously doubt that was an official disc from the manufacture. Didnt like the fact that It had the disc in there and I was told it was brand new. Got it from Frys.

I got a vista OEM disc and separate driver disc with my Asus N50Vn. Dell did provide OEM discs for quite a while after XP too including windows 7.
