What is the difference between CD/DVD that is listed as open, open appendable and closed? I have a disc that is listed as open and yet I can't any more data to it. I thought only a closed disc that can't be written any more data to it.

I believe that it all depends on the compatibility between systems - and using the "open" and "open appendable" may reduce the compatibility with other comps.

I have not been able to use any "open" disks from one comp to be used on another (optical drive, that is).

You are correct that only "close" disks that can't add additional data.

    cheers ...
