Is there any point in me buying the Ultimate version of Vista? I generally like the most stripped down and fastest performance from OSes (as close to XP Pro as possible). Would there be any advantages in buying Ultimate? Or would a clean Business install be just fine?

    Thanks for the input.

Okay I'll unregister from these forums then.

j/k - but yea I generally don't find the answers I'm looking for. I'll try google again though.

Home Basic is the most stripped down... like XP Home.
Home Premium is like XP Media Center.
Business is most like XP Pro.
Ultimate is like Pro + Media Center + Bitlocker encryption + a few extra little things. The Wikipedia page for Vista editions is a good resource, but I'm too lazy to link to it.

NBR forum activity drops to zero.

Apparent reason for drop in activity? Users become aware of Google and Wikipedia. One NBR member was heard to say "you type something in and click search, and wow! Who knew?"

If you like XP pro then Vista business is for you.

Be aware that Business has no DVD codecs.
