    Hey guys,
I just wanted to know if getting a vista upgrade now is going to be different from getting it later and if so, would I be able to update vista to make it as useful as if I got a later copy or would it be better if I got it now and installed it at a later time? because I can get a new copy on amazon at $120 with shipping.

My birthday's coming up and I want to know if I should ask for it now or just save up and get it at a safer/more debugged time.

    Future thanks to all replies.

Other than the price (which MAY drop, but don't count on it) there is no advantage to waiting. The only reason you would wait is because you are strapped for cash or your hardware isn't powerful enough to support Vista.

It's going to be the same until the next Microsoft OS comes out. You will get equal access to Service Packs and Security Updates like the rest of Windows users.
