Is there anyway I can create a NTFS partition without using Windows XP CD or OS? I tried Win98 boot disk but it didn't work, because it does not support NTFS.

    thanx

Opps, I thought you meant convert ....

    Use Gparted software!!

    http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php

NEVER MIND BELOW... USE ONLY IF YOU WANNA CONVERT.

Very easy .... It will ask for Volume Label of Disk (keep in mind)

To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt

    1.
Open Command Prompt. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.

    2.
In the command prompt window, type: convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format. You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.

Use the PC that you are typing from to make a Gparted CD.(from link in previous post.) Load Cd into the PC without the OS and create any Partition you need.

You can make a partition without installing windows using the Windows CD.
Either boot to cmd prompt, or run the install to the point where it asks to creat e partition, create it manually, then cancel the rest of setup.

No need for 3rd party software.

Unless you're asking because you don't have a windows CD. ;)
