    Direct 3d ?? error

    i am getting an error whenever i try to install autocad. i get an error screen that reads "please install direct 3d before installing autocad"
    i tried looking for this program but im not sure if im downloading the right one. if anyone has a link for this program please help me out. thanks

    What version of Windows are you running? Windows XP shipped with DirectX 8.1, and SP2 I believe installed DirectX 9.0c. By the way, Direct3D is a component of DirectX, so if you do end up having to download an installer, you will want to find the DirectX installer directly from Microsoft's site.

    How are you installing AutoCAD? Why didn't it install DirectX?

    In that case, as mentioned, you will need to dl and install directX 9.0 (even if you are using DX 10 in Vista).
