Hi Ive got a problem with DirectX diagnostics. whenever i test the video card it works fine but the full screen tests have soem anomalies in them. whenever the tests are done I get the other windows that are behind it showing up blinking in and out. for example the first directdraw test, it runs fine but in the middle you can see the outline of the main directX window. it happens in the direct3D tests as well. Playback of mpg and avi Xvid videos are jerky and these two issues have happened around the same time it seems. I have upgraded the video driver and this problem seems to have happened around that time then i downgraded and ran driver cleaner and all that but the problem persists. I have reinstalled directx 9c and used the Xp codec pack but that hasnt done anything either. CPU and RAM usage appear fine. I have a dv9000t btw

    Any suggestions?

You probably have an issue with your video drivers. Reinstall them. If they don't work, look at www.laptopvideo2go.com for an "unlocked" driver you can use (I assume you have an NVIDIA card? If not, you may be out of luck.)

hmmm it is a video driver issue, at least some of it. and i upgraded to the 165.01 drivers from that site and this is when it started. i removed the driver and reinstalled my previous one but no go (which was also from that site), still the same issue even after using drivercleaner. it plays games fine though, no issue there just the dx9 diag tests are like that. I am now running the NGO 158.22 and the problem is still there though i think the video jerking issue might be solved via driver or codec reinstalls.
