Disclaimer: I'm sorry for the double post, but I originally put this in the Sager boards, and it doesn't really belong there, as the issue isn't one specific to Sager. If any mod sees this, feel free to delete the thread over there.

Ok so, I want to disable the Microsoft eHome infared transceiver. The problem is that the device manager doesn't offer a disable button for this device, only uninstall. That would be fine too, except that whenever windows restarts, it automatically detects the device and re-installs the drivers whether I like it or not. Does anybody know of any way I can either forcibly disable this device, or uninstall it and not have Windows go against my decision?

In the future, report the thread to the moderator so that we can move it so that clutter is reduced on the forums. Also, remember that you can "bump" a thread every 24 hours since your last post to bring it back to first page.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

. turn off plug and play services
. (not sure) but at the next device hardware detection, see if you have the possibility to ignore and not show this dialog again

    cheers ...

In Device Manager, right-click the device and select Disable.
