yes you have to disable secure boot and enable CMS as it is the interface that Win 7 and earlier use to run

Just removed this POS Windows 8 as well and installed 7 pro

my benchmarks are 15% higher in Win 7 in all aspects, ranging from 3DMark to AS SSD Benchmark

yes bro, here is my story

I bought this laptop (in sig) it had Win 8 on it. I immediately formatted and installed windows 7 then ran all the benchmarks like AS SSD, Crystal DiskMark, 3DMark, etc.

then I thought no let me try to get used to Win 8 the boot time / restart time is much better so i formatted again, wasting a full day reinstalling all apps...but my benchmarks dropped significatnly by 15% in all benchmarks. so back on the trusty windows 7 and never going back to 8 again

I have seen some situations, like on certain Dells, where if the UEFI is set to UEFI boot, and the disc you're trying to boot can't boot in UEFI, the device itself won't show in the boot menu. Verify your Windows 7 disc is a proper original disc. You could also just not UEFI boot.

you can create a GPT/UEFI USB disk using Rufus

just extract your Windows DVD to an ISO and let Rufus help you do the creation easily
