Hi there
I've just hooked 2 laptops up with each other via a crossover cable, both using Vista Ultimate and I had to create a new user account on the "host" so that the "client" could access it.
Now though on the "host" laptop I have 2 user accounts (not including the Admin account) and they both appear on the login screen.
Is there anyway I can disable the new account which will only be used when the other laptop connects to my "network" so that only my user account appears on the login screen, preferably without deleting the new user account?
Thanks in advance for any advice/help![]()

Open the registry editor
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\
If you dont have a key called SpecialAccounts under that, then create one. Again create a new key inside SpecialAccounts called UserList. Under UserList create a new DWORD (32-bit value) having the same name as the user account you want to hide. Leave the value 0 (default value) to hide, and 1 to show.
Final path of the UserName (DWORD) should be
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserListLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
