hey guys!
I have been looking for a sidebar gadget that monitors a batteries discharge rate (Win Vista).
Idealy it would:
- When on battery power:
- display current discharge rate as a graph
- display estimated time the system can run at current conditions
- When plugged in:
- display current power consumption as a graph
- display estimated time to a full recharge
Does anything like this exist?
Thanks in advance,

BatteryMon may be worth a look although it is not a sidebar gadget. It will draw the graph you want when running on battery.
Both BatteryMon and RMclock have tray icons which will show some battery info.
I don't think any application can tell you about the power consumption when on mains power because this is not normally monitored within a notebook. As far as I know, it is only the battery charge / discharge which is monitored. I can check the total mains power using a meter on the wall (but I don't know the efficiency of the power supply).

Thanks John!
Didnt realise that RMclock displays discharge info! Would be cool if one could some how display that value as a graph either in the taskbar or in the sidebar as a gadget...hmm
I think BatteryMon is too overkill for me!
Too bad about not being able to easily monitor the power consumption

I've just checked the RMClock battery icon. There is an option for it to show either estimated time remaining or % charge as part of the icon and % capacity as a tool tip. The battery info page of RMClock shows the current power drain.
MobileMeter also draws a discharge / charge graph but won't work with Vista.

Thanks!
Thats exactly what I missing...current power drain as a little graph(just as RMclock displays CPU load/OS Load as a graph).
Hmm, I guess ill have to be content with opening RM clock and looking at the current value..
