Here is an image showing what I see in disk manager, the extend volume option is simply greyed out. I assume there is a simple fix to this without downloading a third party program, to which there are a number for this alone. Rather then reinstalling windows and going through the hassle of drivers and programs I just did a system image restoration on a new drive. Google says using a third party program is the answer, but maybe I dont have too?

    Thanks in advance.

You can't extend space if the unallocated space is not adjacent to the partition, in your case, you an 862 MB OEM partition.

What I usually do in such cases is I use MiniTool Partition Wizard to move the free space TO that OEM partition so that it has the full space, THEN I shrink the OEM partition and instruct MiniTool Partition Wizard that I want the FREE SPACE to be allocated BEFORE the partition NOT AFTER as it is in your case, then the free space would be adjacent to your C: partition and you can freely extend it.

What does moving it all to the 862mb oem partition first matter? The option to allocate the space directly to C: drive is there with this program.

Strange it wasn't like this before space had to be moven to adjacent part after the partition you want to resize. In that case be happy that it's that simple and oh. you're welcome.
