    Hello,
I was wondering how I could move everything from one computer to another not just files but also installed apps. I figured that regular disk cloning doesnt work for this as the new computer has different hardware and thus needs different drivers, I would be glad if somebody could give me some tips here, thanks

I did something similar with 2 desktops a couple of weeks ago. I took my old boot drive out of my system and installed it in a system I was putting together for my wife.

The first time booting to XP the device manager found all the new hardware and either installed drivers automatically or asked for a location for them.

You will have to make your backup with Acronis or whatever you use to a DVD or a bunch of CDs and then boot to the CD for the image software and move the image onto the new computer’s boot drive. The first time you start it up Windows should install most everything by itself and you will need to have a driver disk handy for the things it can’t find.

You will have to buy another license and reactivate Windows. Check the drivers that were installed and make sure they are the latest versions. If not update them.
