    Does the disk defrag on Vista even work? I had it running for like 2 hours, still defragging, so i canceled it and installed auslogic and it was done in a matter of minutes.

    Auslogic is amazingly quick...which almost makes me question it. But I have no problems with the built-in defrag utility either. I just wanted to see what the fuss was about.

    It worked fine after i defragd with Auslogic first, must of been a real mess on the disk for it to take as long as it did.

    LOL.....the exact same thing was with me. Unlike the previous Windows defraggers, the one built into Vista doesn't show you the so-called progress/percentage bar(which kinda sucks, imo). All it has is a rotating circle, so there's no way of telling how far it is with it's work. Oh, and it also seemed to take forever, so i too downloaded Auslogic.

    They could of at least left an indicator of whats being done, Like you said, sucks not being able to see the progress.

    You'd think that'd be an obvious thing to include in a shiny new betterer version of Windows: a decent, fast defrag utility. I'm sure it's not outside Microsoft's ability. I wonder why the included one is still crap...

    @ttupa's sig: no they won't ;)

    Have you guys tried the "Auslogics Registry Defrag" another free download by them!
    I thought doing a regular defrag also does the registry as well? Guess not....

    I've tried using my Vista Defrag but it often says its in "good condition" but one night I just left it on and defraged it anyway and it was done the next morning. Didn't notice any improvement but it is very annoying that it doesn't tell you the status/progress!!
