    Hi there,

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to computers but I took the advice of some wise folk on here and got myself a Dell Latitude E6400 and instantly upgraded the HD to a bigger one. I installed XP with no problems and decided to create a 50GB partition for the OS and programs and stuff. I thought the other 250GB would automatically be formatted as the "D:drive" for my data and stuff, but there doesn't appear to be another drive when I open "My Computer". How can I make the rest of the 250GB available for me to use?

    Thanks,

    K

right click computer, click manage, in the window that appears go to disk management

you should see something like unallocated space, right click it and click new partition and after you format it, you should get a drive d or e.
