    Hi all,
This is my First Thread.I recently bought new DELL STUDIO 1555.
    Specs. are as below
    1. Processor-Intel C2D T6600(2.2 GHz).
    2.500GB HDD
    3.4GB RAM
    4.ATI Radeon Mobility 4570
    5.Windows 7 64-bit.
All the games that have max. resolution of 1024X768 do not take up the whole screen space i.e. i get two black bars at both sides.I installed Vista 32-bit to check and the problem was solved. But i don't like Vista.Even 32 bit windows 7 didn't help.I installed the latest drivers from ATI.
    Any ideas????
    Please Help Me......

i guess you have a widescreen screen, and the game isn't widescreen. so you can actually be HAPPY that it doesn't arbitarily stretch your picture to fit the screen, as it would make everything fat.

other than that, it's somewhere in the driver settings of the radeon. but i'm unsure if it's available for the mobility.

Your exactly correct. The Dell 1555 has a 16:9 display. Therefore, any content not originally made in that aspect ratio will have bars (pillars) on the side of the screen

You gotta turn on/off the LCD's stretching options.

Do you have CCC or ATI tray tools? If so, then there is probably an option in there that says whether you want to scale images, or don't scale. Choose scale.

Humm, I've never seen the settings in CCC. But I've seen them on Nvidia. Anyone have any ideas?

I thought since NVIDIA has it, the latest versions of ATI's drivers would have it.

I just don't have Catalyst installed on my machines....

I could of sworn I'd seen that setting the last time I had CCC installed.
