This started after that apple updater decided to force a new iTunes+Quicktime on me. I chose to restart later, and uninstalled the freshly installed iTunes, THEN restarted. Then when I tried to run a video that used DivX, I would only get audio. Installed iTunes but that didn't fix it. Reinstalling DivX didn't fix it either, but I did find out I get audio+video with the DivX player. So uh, anyone know what happened?

try getting a codec pack which includes lots of codecs

what player did u used to use for divx? if its quicktime then maybe the update changed that.

    use mediaplayer classic or vlc

If you get the klitecodec pack, the full version then that will have all of the codecs you need. It also includes media player classic which sideswipe said

Er, what DID work was WMP11.
And when trying to install that klitecodec pack, it gets stuck at the end with this. Abort is the only option that does anything. (And I did uninstall the codecs the installer detected.)

Well I guess the problem is with WMP11 for some reason, because those codecs don't fix it. It's not possible to re-install it in vista right? (The only reason I want to resolve this problem is because I'm a bit of a perfectionist..)
The media player classic from cccp will run AVI fine, by the way.
