Hi, just getting rid of some unnecessary windows components on a new xp machine and was not sure if I could safely get rid of some of them. Can someone explain what Message Queuing (under details Active Directory Integration, Common and Triggers are checked) and Networking Services (Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client) are and if they can be removed? They sound like network stuff a normal user would not need. thanks in advance

Why are you getting rid of stuff? - Just leave it, or is there a specific reason like a very weak computer??

If they are spawning processes then I would just disable them, making sure that they do not affect system performance first. If not leaving them alone unless you are really really short in disk space.

    cheers ...

Try killing them and see if your system will work. Worst comes to worst, you could just hit up system restore.....

Since every machine is different, we don't exactly have a list of services lying around that you can disable.

In my opinion there's only two things to take care of this.
1: Leave it as it is.
    2: Disable them.

If I were you I wouldn't go through so much trouble. You never know what will happen. If it's necessary to get rid of them you should do so, otherwise just keep it simple and leave it as it is.
