The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

If you remove certain components, certain apps that rely on those .net components will not function. So un-install wisely.

*Edit... I'd say leave them there IMO. They're usually only a couple of hundred KB anyway.

When were they installed? Keep in mind some games require Visual C++. I noticed you have NFS World, do the dates match? ;)

Yeah just keep them...they are essential to some programs and in either case I bet all of them combined take up maybe a couple of megabytes...so you wouldn't notice them being gone or not.

You need the C++ X64 runtime only if you're running true X64 applications. Most applicatios are 32 bit running within Windows X64.

some applications check for older redistributables and if they didn't find them then they will not run using newer ones
