    I've been reading on Microsoft's website in some places that you need Vista SP1 or SP2 in order to do an upgrade install to Windows 7. Is this really true or is it just "recommeded" by Microsoft?

    Has anyone been successful in doing a Vista RTM to W7 RTM upgrade without a NASTY middle step of having to upgrade to Vista SP1 first?

    I am looking at doing a factory recovery once I finish backing everything up from my system which originally came with Vista RTM and then doing an upgrade install.

    Vista Business 32bit RTM->Windows 7 Professional 32bit RTM

    Will this work? Thanks.

    Don't worry, I'm still considering a clean install, just wondering for now if this would work and is even an option. I like to know all my options :)
