    Correct, if you have a real-time AV, however no AV can protect you @ 100% simply because the (H)IPS & Virus signatures are released after the malware has been released in the wild and discovered & not before.
    Additional layers of protection are needed and one of these and mandatory, is to have a backup system image software with full images of the OS stored on one or more external devices.

    right, I know what you mean and those are called 0 day exploits, so basically, this Microsoft Removal tool is just useless garbage :)

    No, I don't bother with it even if I don't have an AV installed. It's totally useless and an insult as to what it tries to do. Just ask Mitlov who got a nasty case of Blaster on one of his systems which is what the malicious removal tool is supposed to find and eliminate. He even forced a scan and the MRT utility found 0 problems. :rolleyes:

    He had to install malwarebytes which removed the virus.

    Imaging software, like Paragon, Acronis, Macrium or SSR 13, are your first line of defence against potential disasters, AV's come next...

    ^I'd say Secure Erase comes between imaging software and AVs :D
