On every computer I've owned I always login in as the Admin with full priviledges. I even make the computer login automatically and turn off auto-locking of the computer when I'm away. It annoys me to use a standard account then have to enter a password for every Admin operation I perform. Screw that.

People say that its less secure but I've never had an issue with viruses, or intrusions or anything. Worse I've got was some spyware that loaded porn, which is good or bad depending on how you look at it.

P.S. My user name has changed. See sig below.

    You forgot an option:

No - bad things never happen to me... probably at least partly because I run as a standard user.

Oh well... I guess I'll just choose the existing "no" option.

Anyway, I don't mind the password thing. Once I set up my computer the way I like it, I don't need to perform admin operations very often... and when it is necessary, I can type my password quickly -- in about a second.

I log into my account as an Admin, but everyone else using this computer has a standard account. All of us have passwords, and I use NOD32 and Comodo Firewall Pro as my safety.

I use a standard account in both vista and XP. (except for my old HP that I don't use often)

Originally I had set up my stepmom's Dell XP machine like this, in addition to the standard accounts for my dad and the rest of us, but that didn't go so well. She never used the limited account because she found it annoying having to log out and switch users when necessary. In the end I merged the standard account's files into the admin account. I'll try this concept again when she upgrades to Vista (or Windows 7) soon, because UAC makes it much more bearable for the average user.

I know you could always right click and choose run as, but that only works on some things and figuring out which ones would have been frustrating

Admin as I'm the only user using this computer and I have adequate protection installed. I have yet to have a problem (virus, spyware, or otherwise).
