Just installed the 30 day trial of Kaspersky and it seems to want to scan every file that is run or opened when ever accessed. Surely this is going to slow performance alot? Norton does not do this?

You have to do a full scan first. Then after that, it only scans new and changed files.

Lots of anti-virus scanners run in the background as low-priority to constantly scan. This is normal.

Oh ok, so it wont access(scan) a file when I open a word file etc? Once whole scan has been done.

Haven't installed KAV7 yet but have been a Kaspersky fan since I tried them back in the 4 versions! Using KAV6.0.2.614 presently. It is one of the best AV available if not the best.
