Does Voice Recognition Software speed up your work by at least 100%? For example: which one is faster, entering 200 numbers in an Excel file by typing it manually or by dictating it? Which one is faster: writing a response to this board by typing it manually or by dictating it? How about the accuracy?

The few times I played around with Voice Commands in Vista I just got frustrated with not going where I want or getting gibberish out of it...

However on a BlackBerry using voice commands to dial a number is quicker than using buttons.

I think the best general answer is:
    Depends.

You might get a better reply if you ask about a specific product - and the fact that my Berry understands me and Vista doesn't points me towards the opinion that voice recognition can be very different in quality.

It might be better if you asked for a specific product.
