    Does anyone get this error message on sp2??

    Does this happen on start-up or when you try to run program or explorer?

    It seems like acrobat plugin for explorer doesn't quit the right way. I would suggest deleting it's Startup registry. This should solve the problem.

    Download a Program like, ControlPanelStartUp or WhereJames to control which processes you want to run.

    Try this:

    1. From the Start menu, choose Run.
    2. In the Open field, type sfc /scannow
    3. Click the OK button.
    4. Restart the computer when the System File Checker program finishes.

    If that doesn't work, post here again and we'll see what else we can do.

    I'm doing this right now. I didnt get the problem since I took the snap shot but I'll give what you said a try. If the problem comes back in the future I will post it here again. Thanks you for your help.

    maybe you simply need to reinstall adobe acrobat

    You know I used an hp computer in the past a desktop also new and it had the same problem when shutting down. I will try this as a last resort thanks.
