If so, where can I download the necessary stuff to skin foobar? I tried right here: http://www.btinternet.com/~sean.m.kelly/foo_looks/install.htm, but I get 404 errors when trying to access the files.
So what I'm asking is: where else can I get these files?
Thanks.![]()

To skin foobar2000, you need to download the necessary components to use the skin. The skin author has to include a list of the components you need. Like my favorite skin, FOOAvA, and many more on DeviantArt. He also has a list of instructions of how to set up the theme on his site, in case you like that particular theme.

Ah. Thank you Calvin. That's what I was saying; I was trying to download the necessary components, but was getting 404 errors when trying to access the files. I'll check out the author's lists. Thanks again.

No problem pixelot, remember to post again if you're having any trouble.

can u tell me how to use FOOAvA?
just put it in skins folder? -
Love foobar
I like the default skin as it is, add a few great plugins and you cant beat it.
@nocturnal
Visit this page and download the components mentioned. Place the components in X:\foobar2000\components\.
Download the theme installer and run it. -
Here are the instructions for installation. Also, I'd like to tell you guys, this isn't bug free. There is a bug in vista that makes the mini player zonk out, the updated build you can download from his website may fix it but it didn't for me. Didn't stop me from using the skin though, i just minimize it instead of using mini-mode.

yes, i am using FooAvA now... Its the most beautiful skin i have used ever.
but one question..
how to use this PowerPanel settings?
I dont know how to switch to Seek panel or Volume panel.. -
Look at the attached file. I have the seek bar and volume panel highlighted. They're already activated when you run PowerPanel.

Since something is showing that means that it must think that's the album art. I'm sure there was a way to download album art of the internet but i don't remember how, and i can't find the setting in my own Foo, try playing around with the settings to see if you can find it. If not, just download the album art image and put it in the album folder and rename it to "folder" i think "cover" also works. You may want to hide it after you're done if you don't want any image files in your music folder.
-
Set it so you can see hidden and system files, then look for folder.jpg in the folder where the music is contained. I found out that that's where foobar looks for album art.
Edit: Check here for some foobar pics.

Has anyone managed to get the winamp visualizations working in foobar around here yet? I can't get it to work, but I think it is mostly due to me missing a lot of other necesarry components. Either way, I'm working on it and I can't wait to figure it out. Lack of VIS was the only thing that kind of irked me about foobar.
thread about Winamp VIS in foobar here: link -
Thanks for the link. I'd like to get that working. I'll let you know.
-
^ I suppose I could have updated but I got it to work just fine quite a long time ago. I needed up to download the new microsoft visual c++ 2008 redistributable package linked on page 8 of that thread to get it to work. I'm using an older version of foobar so that I can keep the FooAvA skin. I am not sure if the winamp visualizations work with the newer versions of foobar.

Cool. Thanks for the update. I'll see what happens.
Does anyone here use foobar2000?
