Does anyone know if Vista Business is configured for multiple core processors?

I have Windows Vista Business on my laptop, which has a 1.6 Ghz Intel T5470 Core 2 Duo processor, but I get terrible Super Pi results, like 1 m 09 s for 1M digits
    Is this a result of:

    1. A normal speed for this processor.

    2. An OS not configured for multiple cores.

    or

    3. Some other reason.

Does anyone know? Your comments would be appreciated

It's a result of Super Pi not being configured -- well, programmed -- for multiple cores. The OS is fine and has nothing to do with it. A program will only run on one core unless the program is multi-threaded.

Thanks so far, this is really helpful. Does anyone know how I could get some more accurate benchmark scores?

wprime. i think its www.wprime.net also depending on your processor you may need to set threads to 2 since on vista wprime will only show one.
