I need some help so that I can control my system volume via a script rather than having to point to the icon in the systray and doing it from there through the mouse function. Ideas?

You want to explain a bit more about what you expect to be doing with the script? Keyboard control?

    cheers ...

The program is a BT control interface for your PC from your cell phone. You can do different things from the phone to control the PC depending on what type of scripts you have saved in the program. There are some really advanced ones like full iTunes/WMP control interfaces and then some really simple ones that operate like shortcuts, such as to launch a program of your choice.

I would copy one of the shortcut scripts and have it written to open the system volume but the problem that I'm having is that the only shortcut I can find in vista x64 for sound is in the control panel and not an .exe, but rather something like cml or cpl for control panel file.

    Can it send keystrokes?

You can run "sndvol" (included with Vista) and send up/down arrow (or page up/page down for bigger increments)

Or to use the system tray volume control... Win-T then tab 3 times then left-arrow twice then Enter, and then use up/down arrow or page up/page down to move the volume slider.

There may be a way to write a .vbs or .js script to set the volume without going through the built-in volume control UI... but I don't know how to do it off the top of my head.

It can't send keystrokes per se, however certain scripts do contain the functionality to use the cell phone's directional pad as the keyboard up/down left/right would operate.

Using sndvol worked perfectly. It open the system volume just like I needed. Thanks!

I'm hoping that I can somehow add this up/down functionality to the script though because right now the shortcut launches the system volume, but nothing is selected and up/down on my phone doesn't do the trick... yet.

    Thanks again for the help.

BTW, if no one uses this program, what do you guys recommend for a cell phone remote PC control application? Salling clicker works over BT or Wifi and has full functionality in a lot of programs. Ex: wmp, iTunes, Power point, etc.
