    Hi all,
Finally getting around to installing Win7, but because I am currently outside my normal environment, I won't have a steady internet connection on the laptop on which I am clean-installing Win7 (moving from Vista Home Premium 32-bit to 7 Home Premium 64-bit, on a dell xps m1330). I was wondering if the installation process requires an internet connection at all? Perhaps to download drivers, or verify anything? I have googled for a while and not found anything that suggests internet is required, but I don't want to risk getting stuck mid-installation, or having an incomplete installation, because I currently lack an internet connection.
    Thanks very much!

You might need it to validate the installation, but I don't think you have to validate straight after, I think you have some time.

you don't need it. once you get one, get windows updates.

but maybe make sure you can copy out the drivers from vista (if there's some c:\drivers or something), just in case.

and activation could be done over phone, too.
