Hi all I am getting a laptop as a gift from my uncle.

Now its a DELL vostro 1000 has 2GB ram and Athlon X2 dual core 64bit

all I see on the purchase order is that it has Vista Home premium
    Thats it?

I want 64bit version but how do I know if the laptop comes with it?
Does it come with 2 original copies of vista one with 32bit and the other with 64bit?

Or does it come with 64bit installed?

Dell only ships it's systems with the 32 bit version of Windows Vista. The only version you get on disk is 32 bit as well. :)

    damn it stupes!!!!

I wanted the 64bit to run the new gamecube emulator it supports dual core processors and plays at full speed but ur OS must be 64bit.

Why dosen't DELL ship with 64bit?

I believe it's possible to request the 64-bit disk for a fee from Microsoft or Dell.

    Can anyone confirm this?

Only with retail versions. And only from Microsoft.
