Im running windows 7 x64 ultimate, and randomly, no matter what im doing, i would get an error saying windows explorer has stopped working, it restarts within 5 seconds and everything is fine and dandy again. Does this happen to anyone else?

It would help us if you could share the error message you see after explorer stops working.

No error message, it just says windows explorer has stopped working, windows is finding a solution to the problem. A second later it restarts very quickly and everything is the way it was before. Its not really a bother because the entire thing takes about 10 seconds, but yeah it just keeps happening usually when i open/close windows too fast.

    Start Menu > Action Center

Entry should be in there. See if Windows has anything to say about it.

Yes, I do. Everything was working fine when I was running build 7100, but since I moved to 7600 I get these crashes a couple of times a day.

That's because of a buggy shell extension you have installed at some point. The only cure is to uninstall/update the offending extension.

Generally speaking, Explorer crashes are almost always the result of buggy third-party software, with hardware/driver problems a distant second.

No problems here. Win 7 x64 bit.

Just curious are these clean installs with proper drivers, or were these upgrades to Windows Vista? Or worse, upgrades from Win 7 RC and/or Beta versions?

    Cheers!

You're absolutely right. I used to have this problem and what I did was by using this, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html and doing the elimination process, it turns out to be a buggy shell extension. Disable it and u're good to go.
