Does your Photo Gallery take around 20-25 second to switch to full screen slideshow mode?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find any threads on this issue.

Does anyone know if there is any way to cut down on that time? XP's picture and fax viewer was almost instanteneuous.

I am not looking for another viewer, and I have seen this one being slow on other computers with Vista.

    Any ideas?

How many photos in the slideshow?

Mine has no problems. You might want to try a third party viewer or Windows Media Center

For me, No. It goes into full screen mode (and out of it) pretty quick.. (and for sure not after 20-25 seconds)..

Though I thought/felt it was a tad slower than the XP pictures n fax viewer thing.. but I don't find it to be a big deal at all.. :) Cheers.

Hmm, strange. Yeah, it takes that long even if I try to maximize the single image on the desktop.

The rest of the windows is quick and crisp. What could this be? (The indexing is disabled).

I noticed mine does take 4-7 seconds just to view a photo, abit slower than id expect.

    Try using ACDSee

Mine takes a 5 count just to open a photo that will open instantly when ported to any other program (such as dragging and dropping into GIMP or something of that sort). And it takes about 15 to open a slideshow... in which it also changes my display resolution thus making everything horribly fuzzy anyway. The fact that on a computer with less processing power and 1/3 the memory with XP, the Picture and Fax Viewer was faster bothers me... But yes. There's the answer to your question: it does the same on my computer.
