Hi. I have the dell inspiron 15r n5110. I wish to downgrade my bios but the installation file says "Dell does not recommend installing older bios version". How can i bypass this?

Downgrading a BIOS file can be risky because updated versions may or may not update the entire BIOS image. If they don't, you could end up with inconsistencies that will force you to figure out how to replace an EEPROM. That's why every BIOS flash file comes with a warning that basically says "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

Woofer is spot on. I worked on dells in the 1990's till 2007 and did brick one or two by trying to install an older BIOS.
Geos1 what issue are you trying to solve ?

I was able to downgrade the BIOS on my VAIO couple of times while experimenting - I just used the older .exe which downgraded - no questions asked. HOWEVER, the last time I attempted that, my HDD was no longer recognized!!! It cost me a sleepless night to recover - I'd never play with BIOS again! Really not recommended!

I ended up doing it. I booted from USB using dos and ran it from there using the /forceit command.

People need to know how I can dowgradear a bios, I can not find the old model and no model bios to do so, the probe q biosagentplus but you have to pay the program! Anyone have any idea?

    Tipo de bios: Phoenix
Version del bios OEM : MPPNV10A.86A.0020.2010.0628.1720
    Bios version ID :1.04EXO-None.
Nombre del motherboard: Intel Corporation Intel powered Classmate PC

Exo is a government school that delivered to the school, supposed to have a modified bios running a small program in the MBR that could check the certificate without having the chip "TPM" that both claim to have
