    Hello everyone,

I'm hoping this is the right section and that this question wasnt answered twenty times before.
I bought a HP dv2899et Artists Edition today. Came with a vista, apparently. Now the laptop is pretty decent, just exactly what I need. But it has the vista aidz.

I checked HP's website where they put a list of all the available drivers for laptops together, but when I checked my model half the drivers were only available for Vista. So I know that with a few BIOS tricks I can make laptop accept XP after Vista. but I heard that some lappies wont ever downgrade to XP simply because the hardware wont allow you? or something like that.

Is it true? Because I will return it tomorrow if I cant downgrade it tonight. Can anyone help me with this?
