If I order the Windows 7 upgrade download from work will I be able to download the copy onto my laptop or will it deny and say that I have to use it on the computer I ordered it from? I think I am just going to go with the shipped version. Easier in the long run. Right?

You probably will download an ISO image, then burn it onto an installation/upgrade CD/DVD and can use this on any comps that you plan to upgrade.

    cheers ...

ghn is correct, except that your one copy will only work on one computer not all of your computers. You still have to Authenticate it with Microsoft.

Correct - license is only for one comp, unless otherwise stated.

    cheers ...

Yes. Although there may be some limitations (as was seen with Windows XP) where after a certain number of installs (and therefore authentications) you will have to contact Microsoft in order to re-authenticate your copy of Windows.

Keep in mind that you should have no problems re-installing your copy of Windows on the same computer. As long as you don't change the motherboard, you should be good to go, and even then a quick call to Microsoft should let you re-authenticate your copy of Windows for installation even with a different motherboard.

The upgrade is for any version of previous OS. It doesn't have to be the same computer you ordered it from. The upgrade is not computer specific it's OS specific. The download is an ISO file but you may have a little trouble downloading because the server will be very slow due other people are doing the same thing. It took me awhile downloading the RC version.
