    Downloading Live streaming videos from sites

    Is there any free software that lets me rip live streaming videos from the net to my harddrive?Like for example youtube,fox on demand, and google vid.

    Don't know of any software that will do that, but you could try keepvid.com.

    I think there's a new firefox extension that lets you download them, never used it before but search through the add-ons section of mozilla's site to find it.

    There is an extension called Greasemonkey that downloads videos from certain web sites using scripts, but apparently youtube keeps updating their web site to break it's functionality.

    Yes, there is.
    Try URL helper to catch the links for the files, and then just download the files .. By the way all the files from YouTube are in .flv extension, so you will need a .flv player to watch them on your computer.
    That duet (both programs) are working fine for me.
